Set high above the blue expanse of Lake Superior, Lutsen Mountains delivers a Midwest ski experience that feels anything but expected. Spread across four interconnected peaks and anchored by Mid-America’s only gondola, Lutsen pairs sweeping vertical with nonstop lake views, where snow-covered runs roll toward an endless horizon of water and sky.
Lutsen quietly boasts 23 tree skiing glades tucked across all four mountains. When lake-effect snow is falling, locals head for the terrain off the Timberwolf Chair on Moose Mountain, where perfectly pitched trees hold fresh turns long after the storm rolls through.
From the top of Eagle Mountain to the Summit Chalet deck, Lutsen serves up elevated vantage points with sweeping views of Lake Superior’s massive reach, the Sawtooth Mountains, and surrounding wilderness, making it one of the most visually striking ski areas in the North America.
Arrive hands-free. A free shuttle runs from select nearby resorts directly to Lutsen, making it easy to skip parking, step off the bus, and head straight for the lift.
