Arapahoe Basin

The Legend

Founded by five pioneers of skiing—including an Olympian and veterans—Arapahoe Basin opened in 1946 with one tow rope and a $1.25 lift ticket. It now offers more than 1,400 acres, nine lifts, and a new European bistro at 12,500 feet with panoramic mountain views. A-Basin is known as The Legend for having one of the longest ski and ride seasons in the world, and is a pure skier’s and snowboarder’s mountain welcoming anyone and everyone. Experience some of Colorado's most adventurous in-bounds terrain, delicious food, uncrowded runs, free parking and the friendliest staff in the business.

Friends & Family lift tickets must be purchased online in advance.

TACKLE THE WALL

Arapahoe Basin is an adventurous mountain and to hike the East Wall is to experience one of The Legend’s biggest adventures. Make your way to 13,050 feet to enjoy the ski area’s most iconic view and some of its most extreme terrain. Access the East Wall chutes with just two, short lift rides, then use the multiple hiking routes to spend an entire day exploring this terrain.

THE BEAVERS

The tight, steep glades of The Beavers make up some of Arapahoe Basin’s best secret stashes. Strategic thinning of limbs, rather than large-scale tree removal, means you get beautiful forest and great sight lines. The Beavers often offers deep snow and is a great place for both expert powder hounds and intermediate skiers and riders interested in adventuring into glades.

BLOODIES AND BUDDIES

After a day exploring A-Basin’s varied terrain, treat yourself to the ski area’s après beverage of choice: a Bloody Mary. The secret, signature recipe has won multiple awards and pairs perfectly with each of the homemade items on the menu at the 6th Alley Bar & Grill. Enjoy one with bacon on The Perch, an outdoor, top-floor deck overlooking the frontside runs.

LOCAL HACK
